به گفته وزیر انرژی ترکیه، پروژه خط لوله گاز طبیعی بین ترکیه و قطر ممکن است پس از سقوط بشار اسد از سر گرفته شود. این خط لوله که از خاک سوریه می‌گذشت، در سال 2009 توسط اسد رد شد.این خط لوله به طول 1500 کیلومتر، گاز را از قطر به عربستان سعودی، اردن، سوریه، ترکیه و در نهایت به اروپا که از زمان جنگ اوکراین برای جایگزینی مناسب گاز روسیه در تلاش بوده است، منتقل می کند.
پروژه خط لوله قطر-ترکیه شامل انتقال گاز طبیعی از میدان گازی پارس جنوبی قطر به ترکیه و سپس اروپا از طریق خط لوله نابوکو است.
