Мирослава пропала вечером 22 января. После прогулки с подругой школьница должна была вернуться домой. Родители девочки пытались её найти самостоятельно, но после неудачных попыток обратились в полицию. Поиски продолжались почти сутки. В специально развёрнутый оперштаб съехались более 500 человек, желающих оказать помощь в поисках 9-летней девочки.
Первые Железногорска не могли оставаться в стороне. Специалисты местного отделения прочёсывали улицы города, а активисты помогали расклеивать объявления и мониторить соцсети.
