В то же время 65% отметили, что значимость высшего образования часто преувеличивают, а в наше время и без него можно построить карьеру и устроить жизнь. Также 66% не считают, что без высшего образования человек обречен на низкооплачиваемую и непрестижную работу.

Зумеры и младшие миллениалы чаще других возрастных групп говорят о преувеличении значимости высшего образования (71-72%). Кроме того, если в поколении оттепели 52% полагают, что люди без высшего образования обречены на плохую работу, то среди зумеров – лишь 6%.

Мотивами получения высшего образования называют успешное трудоустройство (38%), получение специальных знаний (26%), построение карьеры (22%), расширение кругозора (21%) и социальный лифт (18%).

Более трети опрошенных (38%) заявили, что высшее образование стало более доступным, чем в советские годы. Каждый второй (52%) уверен в обратном.
