В 90-е годы «первый в России частный автозавод» ЛЛД-Авто выпускал УАЗ-31512 в различных модификациях.

УАЗы дорабатывались образованной в 1988 году двумя братьями-близнецами фирмой ЛЛД (Название расшифровывалось как "Ларин, Ларин и друзья"). Компания ограничивалась лишь визуальным тюнингом, не затрагивая техническую начинку. В лучшие годы производилось до 40 штук в месяц.
Производство велось с 1992 по 2000 год.

Помимо новой крыши, машины ЛЛД отличались панорамным ветровым стеклом, новым пластиковым оперением по кругу, 15-дюймовыми легкосплавными дисками, кенгурятниками, а также заметно переработанным интерьером с сиденьями от АЗЛК-2141 и рулем от ГАЗ-3102. Машины были дополнительно утеплены и обесшумлены, поэтому по комфортабельности значительно превосходили заводские УАЗы
