В своем выступлении Романчиков сообщил, что ТМХ занимается разработкой подвижного состава и подготовкой производства с целью достижения максимальной автоматизации. При этом, по его словам, эффекты не достигаются только за счет беспилотного движения, а являются результатом внедрения и взаимодействия нескольких отдельных технологий.
Одной из таких технологий является «Виртуальная сцепка» (ВСЦ), которая разрабатывается совместно с АО «НИИАС» и ООО «АВП Технология». К 2024 году системой уже оборудовано 1675 локомотивов. Применение ВСЦ позволяет на 10-15% увеличить пропускную способность участка без строительства дополнительной инфраструктуры.
