🔹مصرف تریاک و سایر مخدرها در اوایل که به‌صورت تفریحی است با اثرات آرام‌بخشی خود ممکن است تا حدی منجر به کاهش فشار خون فرد شود ولی به مرور با افزایش مصرف و اعتیاد اثرات معکوس خواهد گذاشت به‌طوری‌که در زمان‌هایی که فرد این مواد را مصرف نمی‌کند و به قول معروف در خماری به‌سر می‌برد استرس و درد ناشی از این امر منجر به ترشح هورمون‌های استرسی (کاتکول آمین ریلیز) می‌شود که منجر به انسداد عروق کرونر و تشدید قابل ملاحظۀ فشار خون فرد می‌شود که این اثرات مخرب بر اندک سود احتمالی اوایل مصرف این مواد کاملا غلبه می‌کند.
