7 февраля 1908 года в доме № 6 по Соборной улице (ныне Ленина), около 21:00 городская полиция арестовала 17 человек, проводивших здесь конспиративное собрание.
Среди них были находящиеся в розыске за принадлежность к Кубанскому комитету РСДРП Ф. И. Яворский, П. И. Вишнякова и председатель местного социал-демократического комитета В. А. Старосельский. Все они были задержаны и препровождены в участок до производства обысков в их квартирах.
