Установлено, что дамба хотя и использовалась, но не была введена в эксплуатацию. Это повлекло за собой прорыв дамбы и попадание неочищенных вод в реки Батуровка, Санарка и в пруд на реке Санарка.
Также в ходе проверки вскрылось, что «ЮГК» отравила мышьяком не менее 330 тысяч квадратных метров земли. По площади это равно примерно 46-ти футбольным полям. Уже возбуждено 15 дел об административных правонарушениях. В СК направлены материалы проверок для решения вопроса о возбуждении уголовных дел. Речь идет о статье 246 УК РФ (нарушение правил охраны окружающей среды при производстве работ).
