Раввин Якоб Исраэль Герцог отправился в Дамаск для общения с новым режимом

Герцог долгое время входил в группу израильтян ездивших в Саудовскую Аравию во время процесса нормализации отношений Эр-Рияда с Тель-Авивом. По итогу, там он получил известность как главный "раввин КСА" и весьма широкую связь с правительством страны. Теперь он заявил, что отправился в Дамаск где хочет встретиться с официальными лицами нового правительства и обсудить будущее взаимоотношений двух стран.

Удастся ли ему организовать эту встречу и добиться каких-то результатов пока не ясно. Но в силу своих связей в Израиле и непосредственно в его армии, Герцог может стать первым шагом в нормализации отношений Дамаска и Тель-Авива.

Continuing its crackdown against entities allegedly involved in a front-running scam using messaging app Telegram, Sebi on Thursday carried out search and seizure operations at the premises of eight entities in multiple locations across the country. Given the pro-privacy stance of the platform, it’s taken as a given that it’ll be used for a number of reasons, not all of them good. And Telegram has been attached to a fair few scandals related to terrorism, sexual exploitation and crime. Back in 2015, Vox described Telegram as “ISIS’ app of choice,” saying that the platform’s real use is the ability to use channels to distribute material to large groups at once. Telegram has acted to remove public channels affiliated with terrorism, but Pavel Durov reiterated that he had no business snooping on private conversations. "For Telegram, accountability has always been a problem, which is why it was so popular even before the full-scale war with far-right extremists and terrorists from all over the world," she told AFP from her safe house outside the Ukrainian capital. On February 27th, Durov posted that Channels were becoming a source of unverified information and that the company lacks the ability to check on their veracity. He urged users to be mistrustful of the things shared on Channels, and initially threatened to block the feature in the countries involved for the length of the war, saying that he didn’t want Telegram to be used to aggravate conflict or incite ethnic hatred. He did, however, walk back this plan when it became clear that they had also become a vital communications tool for Ukrainian officials and citizens to help coordinate their resistance and evacuations. The Russian invasion of Ukraine has been a driving force in markets for the past few weeks.
