Сейчас городской электричкой пользуются более 21 тысячи человек в месяц, но власти хотят сделать её полноценной частью транспортной системы.
Для этого областной минтранс, мэрия и московские эксперты работают над улучшением маршрутов.
Планируют пересмотреть расписание с учётом пожеланий пассажиров и построить новые станции – в районе улицы Соловьиной и жилого микрорайона «Красный Аксай».
Также обещают пересмотреть движение автобусов, троллейбусов и трамваев, чтобы сделать пересадки удобнее.
