В принципе его творчество довольно далеко от тематики канала, но при этом в дискографии «YMO» есть странный альбом, на мой взгляд обязательный к прослушиванию всеми поклонниками «SEL». Дело в том, что ближайшие концептуальные аналоги данного мультимедиа проекта можно найти в специфической музыкальной эстетике девяностых. Я вообще подозреваю что на идею Уэды мог повлиять проект «1. Outside» Боуи, но прямых доказательств этого у меня нет. Ну а в японском контексте смесь электронной музыки, теоретического киберпанка (в виде эссе о психогеографии начитанном лично Гибсоном), постхипповской эзотерики (включая голос лично Джона Лилли, рассказывающего о своих любимых дельфинах) и берроузовщины была сформулирована именно «YMO» на их последнем, неофициальном альбоме в первую половину девяностых. Сильно сомневаюсь в том, что это совпадение. Но даже если так, оно однозначно указывает на мрачные концепты уже кристализировавшиеся в культуре.
