Участники мероприятия узнали о тяжелых испытаниях, выпавших на долю жителей осажденного Ленинграда: о голоде и холоде, о детях и женщинах, работавших наравне с мужчинами на заводах, о защите и обороне города советскими солдатами. Особые чувства у ребят вызвала история маленькой девочки Тани Савичевой, дневник которой стал одним из символов Великой Отечественной войны.
