Работа ведется в рамках проекта Министерства экологии, охраны окружающей среды и изменения климата, сотрудниками НИИ лесного хозяйства.
Особое внимание уделяется не только способности растений адаптироваться к экстремальным условиям, но и их потенциалу в восстановлении биологических функций экосистемы. Восстановление растительного покрова способствует стабилизации почвы, снижению уровня пылевых бурь и улучшению микроклиматических условий в регионе.
