Причина - "соударение следовавших навстречу грузовых поездов" вследствие излома оси колесной пары.

Сейчас восстановительные работы продолжаются, но движение на станции уже открыто.

Год для транспортной отрасли заканчивается на минорной ноте - аварии на море и на железной дороге с тяжёлыми последствиями (и люди гибнут, и, по сути, экологическая катастрофа на Кубани).
