🦠میکروب هایی که در روده ما زندگی می کنند با تغییر شکل اسیدهای صفراوی که کبد ما برای تجزیه چربی ها تولید می کند به هضم غذا کمک می کنند. به نظر می رسد که دو مورد از این اسیدهای صفراوی اصلاح شده میکروبی ممکن است بر خطر ابتلا به سرطان روده بزرگ در جهت مخالف تأثیر بگذارند.
🔬از بسیاری جهات، این رابطه حول پروتئین خاصی به نام گیرنده X farnesoid یا FXR می چرخد که از طریق رابطه صمیمانه خود با اسیدهای صفراوی به حفظ روده سالم کمک می کند. FXR تولید اسیدهای صفراوی را در کبد کنترل می‌کند.
🧬محققان دو اسید صفراوی میکروبی را شناسایی کرده‌اند که اثرات متضادی بر FXR در طول توسعه تومورها در روده دارند.این اولین بار است که این اسیدهای صفراوی میکروبی خاص با ایجاد یا محافظت در برابر سرطان روده بزرگ مرتبط می شوند.
