Трамвайные пути планируют расположить на проектируемом дублере проспекта Космонавтов. Трамвай будет ходить по переулку Полимерному, заворачивать на дублер и, судя по опубликованной схеме, далее следовать в сторону Уралмаша.
Мэрия Екатеринбурга планирует построить дублер проспекта Космонавтов от переулка Мельковского до улицы Машиностроителей до 2045 года. Также в этот же проект входит продление Полимерного и Мельковского переулков до улиц Тагильской и Армавирской.
Сейчас весь проект проходит общественные обсуждения. Они продлятся до 8 ноября.
