Telegram was co-founded by Pavel and Nikolai Durov, the brothers who had previously created VKontakte. The news also helped traders look past another report showing decades-high inflation and shake off some of the volatility from recent sessions. As a result, the pandemic saw many newcomers to Telegram, including prominent anti-vaccine activists who used the app's hands-off approach to share false information on shots, a study from the Institute for Strategic Dialogue shows.
