Как рассказывают архивисты, Новогодний детский базар устраивали в Ленинском саду, ёлки продавали в городской оранжерее, танцы под джаз проходили в клубе имени Дзержинского, маскарад для детей по темам пушкинских сказок в областном Доме учителя, костюмированный карнавал на льду стадиона «Динамо».
