شمشیر تیمور در تهران، عکسش در تاشکند

ازبک‌ها می‌گویند سه شمشیر از تیمور در موزه‌های تهران وجود دارد
و آن‌ها توانسته‌اند «عکس» یکی از آن شمشیرها را از ایران هدیه بگیرند.

عکسی که در تصویر می‌بینید عکسی از شمشیر امیر تیمور اهدایی سفارت ایران در تاشکند در موزه دولتی تاریخ تیموریان به نمایش گذاشته شده است.

در سال‌های اخیر در چند کتاب و آلبوم منتشر شده توسط مورخ منوچهر مشتاق خراسانی مشخص شد که نه یک بلکه سه شمشیر متعلق به امیر تیمور در موزه‌های ایران وجود دارد.
یکی از شمشیرها در موزه ملی تهران و دو شمشیر دیگر در موزه نظامی مجموعه کاخ سعدآباد تهران نگهداری می‌شود.

سفیر پیشین ایران در ازبکستان، در کتاب خود نوشته است:
«صادق صفایف مشاور بین الملل ریاست جمهوری به من گفت اگر شمشیر امیر تیمور را که در موزه سعد آباد ایران نگهداری می‌شود به ما هدیه کنید، تأثیر مثبتی بر روابط فیمابین دارد»
