В преступлении признался бывший полицейский Михаил Смирнов.
Как сообщили ТАСС в пресс-службе СКР, расследование велось с 2004 года, в ходе которого специалисты вышли на экс-сотрудника МВД. Выяснилось, что мотивом убийства стала профессиональная деятельность журналиста по освещению действий противоправных сотрудников правоохранительных органов.
Для подтверждения личности погибшего назначены дополнительные экспертизы.
