Северное сияние оказалось внезапным и застало врасплох наблюдателей. В небе над Ленобластью, согласно прогнозам, не ожидалось прояснений, а параметры солнечного ветра также не пророчили яркий огней Авроры.

Однако небо над Ладогой оказалось звездным. Его украсила дуга северного сияния, которая множество раз меняла свою форму и играла разноцветными лучами. Идеальным дополнением стала Луна, появившаяся из-за горизонта.
