В 2020 году городской перевозчик столицы Германии BVG заказал у швейцарского производителя до 1,5 тыс. вагонов разных модификаций за €3 млрд.

Двухвагонный поезд JK имеет ширину 2,4 м, общая вместимость – 142 человека (28 сидений). Под каждым вагоном обмоторены три оси, общая мощность двигателей составляет 540 кВт. Констр. скорость – 70 км/ч.

Предсерийный состав впервые демонстрировался еще два года назад. Поезда должны были пойти в эксплуатацию в 2022 году, однако сроки сдвинулись из-за сбоев с поставками комплектующих. Испытания начались только в начале 2024-го, на конец лета ожидались опытные поездки с пассажирами, но она пока так и не начались.
