العالم الحديث يشكل تناقض بين نمطين من الوجود الاجتماعي:
-نمط وجود ما قبل حداثي يتعايش البشر وغير البشر في شبكة من العلاقات.
-نمط وجود حديث ينقطع البشر عن الطبيعة ويتم وضعهم في عالم يطلق عليها عالم الثقافة النقية.
