Как заметила Беларуская Ассоциация Журналистов (БАЖ), в Брестском областном суде рассматривается дело против Тимощук Елены Петровны. Это полная тёзка журналистки, работавшей в госгазете "Брестский вестник" и телерадиокомпании "Брест".

В чем суть претензий к журналистке — неизвестно. Когда она работала в независимых изданиях, то никогда не писала на политические темы, отметили источники БАЖ.
Суд над Тимощук начался 22 мая, дальше заседание продолжалось 24, 30 и 31 мая. Роль судьи исполняет Дмитрий Карасинский, который возглавлял кобринский районный суд до своего перевода в Брестоблсуд в сентябре 2023 года.
