I can't think of a time in Roman Church history that a pontiff wielded so much power over day to day life of a diocesan priest.
I have been living, purposely, like a Catholic in the Middle Ages- with no care for Roman nonsense. But it seems that I cannot continue this path if we are entering Napoleonic Rule vis a Mitre. What is this wild ultramonantism- a complete novelty.
