Telegram has become more interventionist over time, and has steadily increased its efforts to shut down these accounts. The post recommended his viewers subscribe to "War on Fakes" in a time of fake news. The fake Zelenskiy account reached 20,000 followers on Telegram before it was shut down, a remedial action that experts say is all too rare.
