"Линде Азот Тольятти" было зарегистрировано в 2013 году совместно с немецкой Linde Group, вложившей в строительство производства аммиака и водорода свои средства и технологии. Стоимость проекта оценивалась в 20 млрд руб. Linde лишилась долей в компании после удовлетворения арбитражным судом иска "РусХимАльянса" к ней. Исполнительное производство началось в отношении совместных предприятий "Линде Азот Тольятти" и "Газпром Линде Инжиниринг". Они выплатили кредитору действительные стоимости долей участия западного ответчика, в результате чего стали принадлежать самим себе. После этого "КуйбышевАзот" воспользовалось опционом на выкуп доли иностранных партнеров.
