30 лет назад началась эпоха Чеченских войн, официально продолжавшаяся 15 лет, до 2009 года, по факту - еще в течение десятилетия, а круги от нее расходятся по сей день, забирая жизни. География и идеология конфликта вышли далеко за пределы Чечни и это наметилось в самом начале. Первые потери были понесены, когда ВС РФ не успели даже заехать в Чечню. 11 декабря 1994 в Ингушетии в районе с. Яндаре (в районе этого села базировались боевики, напавшие на Назрань 22.06.2004) походные колонны были блокированы местными жителями, которые сожгли 10 машин и открыли стрельбу, убив 19-летнего рядового 693-го мотострелкового полка Виталия Масленникова, ставшего первым погибшим солдатом Чеченской войны.
