well. i guess i have to split them into two cateogries: - actually recomended videos that i actually might've fallen asleep to: this applies to the two videos above relating to programming but there were a couple more in my history. in fact, i saw many comments with people saying they woke up to this playing, and when i was talking about getting long recommended videos i meant these ones + some stuff that is similar to what i really watch. still weird how this happpens, i should probably not fall sleep with my phone
- absolutely random bs that isn't related to anything i watch. they are often in a different language, AI generated, literal brainrot, pseudoscience, livestreams of either gaming or some weirdoes on the internet - it really can be ANYTHING. these are the videos that i find to be more uh... mysterious and they are the ones that disappear from my history. these ones i genuinely did not watch: there is no indication that i have ever clicked on any of them or watched any second of them.

Again, in contrast to Facebook, Google and Twitter, Telegram's founder Pavel Durov runs his company in relative secrecy from Dubai. The original Telegram channel has expanded into a web of accounts for different locations, including specific pages made for individual Russian cities. There's also an English-language website, which states it is owned by the people who run the Telegram channels. If you initiate a Secret Chat, however, then these communications are end-to-end encrypted and are tied to the device you are using. That means it’s less convenient to access them across multiple platforms, but you are at far less risk of snooping. Back in the day, Secret Chats received some praise from the EFF, but the fact that its standard system isn’t as secure earned it some criticism. If you’re looking for something that is considered more reliable by privacy advocates, then Signal is the EFF’s preferred platform, although that too is not without some caveats. "There are several million Russians who can lift their head up from propaganda and try to look for other sources, and I'd say that most look for it on Telegram," he said. Such instructions could actually endanger people — citizens receive air strike warnings via smartphone alerts.
