"Белая гвардия" – роман зимний и, естественно, описанные в нём события самым непосредственным образом связаны с праздником Рождества, который отмечался по старому (дореволюционному) стилю 25 декабря.
Символика тут самая разнообразная: это и наступление нового года (даже двух — петлюровского и большевистского), и чудесное спасение семьи Турбиных. Впрочем, в той же мере эта символика касается и семьи Булгаковых.
