Nintendo Switch обошел по продажам PlayStation 2 в Северной Америке

Историческое событие. В последнем подкасте я как раз рассуждал, удастся ли Switch побить рекорд PS2. Как видим, в ключевом регионе получилось. Может и глобальный рекорд побьют? Сейчас продажи Switch приближаются к 150 млн. У PS2 160 млн. Как думаете, получится?

На мой взгляд – однозначно да. А вот когда это произойдет, будет зависеть от даты релизы Switch 2. Если новая консоль выйдет в начале 2025 года, это моментально обвалит продажи старой. А вот если Switch 2 выйдет осенью, то первый Switch сможет побить рекорд PS2 уже в 2026 году.

Тем временем число предполагаемых дизайнов Switch 2 в сети увеличивается с каждым днем. Базируются на сливах производителей аксессуаров. Сегодня вот отдельно показали джойконы и их коннекторы. Мне нравится.

The picture was mixed overseas. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index fell 1.6%, under pressure from U.S. regulatory scrutiny on New York-listed Chinese companies. Stocks were more buoyant in Europe, where Frankfurt’s DAX surged 1.4%. After fleeing Russia, the brothers founded Telegram as a way to communicate outside the Kremlin's orbit. They now run it from Dubai, and Pavel Durov says it has more than 500 million monthly active users. The last couple days have exemplified that uncertainty. On Thursday, news emerged that talks in Turkey between the Russia and Ukraine yielded no positive result. But on Friday, Reuters reported that Russian President Vladimir Putin said there had been some “positive shifts” in talks between the two sides. At the start of 2018, the company attempted to launch an Initial Coin Offering (ICO) which would enable it to enable payments (and earn the cash that comes from doing so). The initial signals were promising, especially given Telegram’s user base is already fairly crypto-savvy. It raised an initial tranche of cash – worth more than a billion dollars – to help develop the coin before opening sales to the public. Unfortunately, third-party sales of coins bought in those initial fundraising rounds raised the ire of the SEC, which brought the hammer down on the whole operation. In 2020, officials ordered Telegram to pay a fine of $18.5 million and hand back much of the cash that it had raised. "There are a lot of things that Telegram could have been doing this whole time. And they know exactly what they are and they've chosen not to do them. That's why I don't trust them," she said.
