در سال ۱۳۹۲ به فکر افتادم و موفق شدم که ریشه واژه رند را بیابم. این واژه با «رنده» «رندیدن» و «راندن» از یک ریشه است . ریشه ی هندواروپایی آن رند « randh» به معنی راندن و دور کردن است. رنده هم بخشی از چوب را میراند و رندیدن همان راندن است. رند شکل فاعلی باستانی است که به همین شکل و با حداقل تغییر به فارسی رسیده و در فارسی هم به معنی کسی است که از خود می راند ، نمی‌پذیرد و #منکر است.
در واقع ریشه واژه که آن را با حالت فاعلی راندن به معنای انکار کردن ارتباط می‌دهد ، اشتباه معنی کردنِ واژه به اوباش را نشان می‌دهد.
