Легендарный «Дом-книжку» на Новом Арбате признали аварийным и реконструируют.

На его месте планируют создать «современный социокультурный кластер, в который войдут образовательные, спортивно-оздоровительные и культурно-развлекательные объекты».

Знаменитые «дома-книжки» — это работа архитектора М. Посохина. В народе их даже звали «Посохонскими сберкнижками». Они интересны не только своей формой, но и своей необычной функцией, которую они выполняли во времена СССР. На домах часто высвечивались буквы к праздникам. Например, можно было увидеть надписи «СССР», «КПСС» или «1 МАЯ». А делалось все это просто — в определенных комнатах включался свет. Сейчас эта задача легла на плечи светодиодных полотен.
