Первый образец СС-ПОМ был представлен в августе 2021 года. Как отмечал начальник сектора нормативно-методологической документации и новых технологий Дирекции по эксплуатации путевых машин РЖД Дмитрий Платонов, СС-ПОМ совмещает несколько функций, обеспечивая высокоскоростную очистку пути, а также очистку от снега межрельсового пространства и элементов рельсовых скреплений мощным воздушным потоком, что позволяет заменять в работе сразу две машины. В «Тулажелдормаш» заявляют, что эксплуатация СС-ПОМ позволит увеличить производительность на 140% при снижении стоимости работ на 32%.
