По данным полиции, жители видели, как толпа молодых людей с криками пробежала по площади и скрылась. Крики сопровождались стрельбой, а на видео видны толпы людей в чёрных толстовках. Информации о пострадавших из больниц не поступало. Проводится проверка.

СМИ полагают, что ситуация возникла из-за конфликта с мигрантом, который «обидел московских скинхедов». На помощь скинхедам прибыли их соратники, устроив беспорядки в центре города.

Однако, за исключением жалоб на скопления людей, других сообщений в полицию не поступало, как и информации о пострадавших.
