В 1925 году организация основалась в Осетии. В ней активно участвовали Созруко Кулаев, Кудзаг Дзесов, Геор Кокиев, Сергей Джанаев и другие молодые писатели. Группа издавала свой альманах (вышло два тома — в 1925 и 1927 годах).
Стремлением участников «Зиу» было порвать с предыдущей традицией, создать литературу на основе пролетарской идеологии. В предисловии к альманаху лидер группы Сармат Косиров писал: «Из всех известных нам до сих пор осетинских писателей ни один не встал на путь революционной литературы… Оторвались они от строящего новую жизнь народа, остались поодиночке».
В целом, развитие литературы этого периода характеризуется приходом нового поколения писателей, расширением тематики произведений, появлением возможностей публикации и, через распространение грамотности, увеличением числа потенциальных читателей.

Similarly, on April 17th, the Moscow Times quoted Durov as saying that he quit the company after being pressured to reveal account details about Ukrainians protesting the then-president Viktor Yanukovych. Pavel Durov, Telegram's CEO, is known as "the Russian Mark Zuckerberg," for co-founding VKontakte, which is Russian for "in touch," a Facebook imitator that became the country's most popular social networking site.
