False news often spreads via public groups, or chats, with potentially fatal effects. Apparently upbeat developments in Russia's discussions with Ukraine helped at least temporarily send investors back into risk assets. In December 2021, Sebi officials had conducted a search and seizure operation at the premises of certain persons carrying out similar manipulative activities through Telegram channels.
