Общественные обсуждения проекта, рассчитанного до 2040 года, проводили в Барнауле три недели. За это время жители краевой столицы направили в мэрию около 2000 обращений. Разрабатывала проект опытная команда московских экспертов. Новый генплан определит ключевые направления градостроительства Барнаула на ближайшие 15 лет. В нем предусмотрено развитие новых территорий вблизи аэропорта, освоение правого берега Оби, а также комплексное развитие микрорайона Поток.
