Он вместе с коллегами Игорем Сергуниным и Вадимом Кобзевым в октябре 2023 года был арестован по обвинению в «экстремизме». По сути за свою адвокатскую работу — за то, что передавал информацию с воли Алексею Навальному и письма Алексея из заключения.
За это ему грозит до 6 лет тюрьмы. Цель преследования адвокатов — запугать всё адвокатское сообщество в России и сделать так, чтобы обвиняемые и осуждённые по политическим делам остались без квалифицированной правовой помощи.
