We are excited to announce a new partnership between Azerbaijan's national carrier AZAL and Israel's El Al airline!

As part of this collaboration, customers of both airlines will be able to fly on EL AL and Azerbaijan Airlines-operated flights under a codeshare agreement. EL AL’s code (LY) will be added to Azerbaijan Airlines-operated flights from Tel Aviv to Baku, and in the future, to their connecting flights as well. Matmid Frequent Flyer Program members will also be able to earn points on flights to Baku.

Tickets are now available for purchase on both airlines’ websites or through travel agents.

A Russian Telegram channel with over 700,000 followers is spreading disinformation about Russia's invasion of Ukraine under the guise of providing "objective information" and fact-checking fake news. Its influence extends beyond the platform, with major Russian publications, government officials, and journalists citing the page's posts. The fake Zelenskiy account reached 20,000 followers on Telegram before it was shut down, a remedial action that experts say is all too rare. Russians and Ukrainians are both prolific users of Telegram. They rely on the app for channels that act as newsfeeds, group chats (both public and private), and one-to-one communication. Since the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Telegram has remained an important lifeline for both Russians and Ukrainians, as a way of staying aware of the latest news and keeping in touch with loved ones. Telegram does offer end-to-end encrypted communications through Secret Chats, but this is not the default setting. Standard conversations use the MTProto method, enabling server-client encryption but with them stored on the server for ease-of-access. This makes using Telegram across multiple devices simple, but also means that the regular Telegram chats you’re having with folks are not as secure as you may believe. Perpetrators of such fraud use various marketing techniques to attract subscribers on their social media channels.
