Ավիաբազայի վրա իրանամետ ուժերի կողմից նախկինում ևս նման բնույթի հարձակումներ եղել են: 2020թ. Ղասեմ Սոլեյմանիի սպանությունից հետո էլ Իրանը հենց այս ավիաբազան էր հրթիռակոծել:
