تقول المعلومات أن روسيا قد أبلغت الجانب التركي أن أي هجوم على حلب سيقابل بعملية جوية روسية واسعة النطاق تستهدف اغتيال الجولاني و كبار قادة هيئة تحرير الشام و تدمير كافة مقراتهم الإدارية و الأمنية داخل مدينة إدلب و بالأرياف و قد تمتد لعمل بري شامل للقضاء على الإرهاب بشكل كامل.
الجانب التركي بدوره تراجع عن حماسه و أبلغ الإرهابيين أنه من الأفضل البقاء على الوضع الحالي و عدم فتح معركة قد تنتهي بنتيجة عكسية.
بينما استقدم الجيش العربي السوري تعزيزات عسكرية على كافة المحاور.
