На горе Преображенской была построена цитадель, а у горы — деревянная церковь Андрея Первозванного. Указом императрицы Анны Ивановны от 20.8.1739 крепость переименовали в Орскую. Орская крепость стала одним из центров торговли на юго-востоке страны.
