احتمال این‌که در خانه، محل کار، مراکز اداری و تجاری یا تفریحی که مراجعه می‌کنیم، مهمانی و وسایل نقلیه عمومی؛ کسی به امیکرون مبتلا باشد و دیگران مبتلا شوند نسبت به دلتا بسیار بیشتر شده. ظاهراً در امیکرون BA.2 که در برخی کشورها رایج شده از امیکرون قبلی (BA.1) هم بیشتر است.
