🇫🇮 🇩🇪 🇺🇸 Lauri Allan Törni, later known as Larry Alan Thorne, was a remarkable Finnish soldier who served under three flags during his military career. He began as an officer in the Finnish Army during the Winter War and Continuation War against the Soviet Union, where he gained recognition for his leadership and valor. Afterward, he briefly joined the Waffen-SS during World War II, receiving additional military training in Germany. Following the war, Törni emigrated to the United States, where he adopted the name Larry Alan Thorne and rose to the rank of Major in the U.S. Army, serving with distinction in the Green Berets during the Vietnam War.
