Преступление произошло 15 декабря 2024 года. Злоумышленники в полицейской форме похитили и избили жертву, украв около 40 млн долларов в криптовалюте. Асхабов был среди 9 разыскиваемых Интерполом подозреваемых.
После инцидента Минтуризма Индонезии призвало усилить контроль за иностранцами на Бали.
29-летний Асхабов известен в ММА, имеет 23 победы и 2 поражения, а в 2015 году стал чемпионом WWFC в полулегком весе.
