well. i guess i have to split them into two cateogries: - actually recomended videos that i actually might've fallen asleep to: this applies to the two videos above relating to programming but there were a couple more in my history. in fact, i saw many comments with people saying they woke up to this playing, and when i was talking about getting long recommended videos i meant these ones + some stuff that is similar to what i really watch. still weird how this happpens, i should probably not fall sleep with my phone
- absolutely random bs that isn't related to anything i watch. they are often in a different language, AI generated, literal brainrot, pseudoscience, livestreams of either gaming or some weirdoes on the internet - it really can be ANYTHING. these are the videos that i find to be more uh... mysterious and they are the ones that disappear from my history. these ones i genuinely did not watch: there is no indication that i have ever clicked on any of them or watched any second of them.

But because group chats and the channel features are not end-to-end encrypted, Galperin said user privacy is potentially under threat. Since its launch in 2013, Telegram has grown from a simple messaging app to a broadcast network. Its user base isn’t as vast as WhatsApp’s, and its broadcast platform is a fraction the size of Twitter, but it’s nonetheless showing its use. While Telegram has been embroiled in controversy for much of its life, it has become a vital source of communication during the invasion of Ukraine. But, if all of this is new to you, let us explain, dear friends, what on Earth a Telegram is meant to be, and why you should, or should not, need to care. For Oleksandra Tsekhanovska, head of the Hybrid Warfare Analytical Group at the Kyiv-based Ukraine Crisis Media Center, the effects are both near- and far-reaching. At the start of 2018, the company attempted to launch an Initial Coin Offering (ICO) which would enable it to enable payments (and earn the cash that comes from doing so). The initial signals were promising, especially given Telegram’s user base is already fairly crypto-savvy. It raised an initial tranche of cash – worth more than a billion dollars – to help develop the coin before opening sales to the public. Unfortunately, third-party sales of coins bought in those initial fundraising rounds raised the ire of the SEC, which brought the hammer down on the whole operation. In 2020, officials ordered Telegram to pay a fine of $18.5 million and hand back much of the cash that it had raised.
