Каким бы гениальным учителем ты ни был, трудно привлечь внимание ученика к теме урока, когда он переживает из-за того, что ирландцы избили его в парке из-за того, что он (итальянец) посмел встречаться с ирландской девочкой.
Для меня Teacher man - не только о профессии учителя, и не только воспоминания ирландского иммигранта, но и очень утешающая книга о том, что в жизни все не бывает идеально, и не обязательно сразу точно знать, что то, что ты делаешь - дело всей твоей жизни. И еще: даже если ты - обычный и даже заурядный человек, у тебя в жизни наверняка было много переживаний и неудач, как и счастливых моментов. Замечательная штука в том, что из каждого такого момента можно сделать захватывающую историю.
