🇦🇿🇺🇿On January 29, Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan have signed a Comprehensive Programme of Activities to commemorate the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two nations.The document was signed during a meeting between the foreign ministers of Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan, Jeyhun Bayramov and Bakhtiyor Saidov, in Ankara.
During their discussions, Bayramov and Saidov addressed various aspects of Azerbaijani-Uzbek cooperation, including political, economic, trade, energy, transport, and communication matters. They also exchanged views on pressing regional and international security issues.
The two ministers further explored opportunities for collaboration within regional and international frameworks, including the Organization of Turkic States, the United Nations, the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), the Non-Aligned Movement, the Economic Cooperation Organization, and the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA), among others.
Bayramov informed his Uzbek counterpart about Azerbaijan’s peace initiatives in the region, as well as the existing challenges and threats to a sustainable peacebuilding process.
The meeting also set the stage for the second trilateral gathering of the foreign, economic/trade, and transport ministers of Azerbaijan, Turkey, and Uzbekistan, which is scheduled to take place later the same day in Ankara.
The event is expected to conclude with the signing of the Ankara Declaration and the adoption of a Joint Action Plan for the coming period. Additionally, the parties will finalize a roadmap for the implementation of this Action Plan.
