Не маски карнавальные, конечно. Это личины внутренних замков на хозяйственных постройках села Караш Ростовского уезда.
Рисунки сделаны в ходе этнографических экспедиций, предпринятых сотрудниками Ростовского музея.

Тогда, в середине 1920-х годов, были основательно – но в географическом отношении очень неполно – исследованы отдельные территории уезда. После репрессий в отношении тогдашнего руководства музея и административной реформы, обрезавшей историческую территорию уезда, экспедиции такой основательности, пожалуй, уже не проводились.

Emerson Brooking, a disinformation expert at the Atlantic Council's Digital Forensic Research Lab, said: "Back in the Wild West period of content moderation, like 2014 or 2015, maybe they could have gotten away with it, but it stands in marked contrast with how other companies run themselves today."
